Overview
The butcher shop associate plays a vital role within the meat department and the overall store experience. Many patrons choose to shop at our establishment due to the exceptional quality of our perishable sections.

A significant factor influencing customers' perceptions of the entire store is the visual appeal and aroma of the meat department.

Even if a customer is not purchasing meat on a given day, they desire to see products that are attractive, vibrant in color, well-displayed, and free from any discoloration.

This role is responsible for curating an enticing presentation of the diverse range of steaks, chops, roasts, poultry, and other offerings available.

Each item must be fresh, visually appealing, odorless, and possess the appropriate packaging firmness.
It is essential to engage with customers and promote additional sales. The associate must be responsive to requests and learn to operate slicing machines for deli meats and small grinders for processing meats.

Proper handling of meat is crucial due to the high perishability of the products, as poor execution can lead to negative outcomes, while excellent performance can positively impact the entire store.

The butcher shop associate can significantly influence customer satisfaction through their attention to detail and service.

We strive to treat every customer as a guest in our home, with the courtesy, friendliness, and respect they deserve.


Position Requirements
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English with reasonable proficiency. Basic math skills are necessary. Effective communication with customers, colleagues, and others is essential. A friendly and approachable demeanor is required. Flexibility in scheduling is important; punctuality is expected. Reliability, a strong work ethic, high integrity, and a drug-free lifestyle are mandatory. A clean and presentable appearance is essential. Excellent customer service skills; outgoing and helpful nature is preferred. Ability to lift boxes weighing at least 30 pounds. Must be able to stand for four consecutive hours without restrictions. Proficiency in using a knife safely and effectively is required.

Knowledge of basic meat cuts is necessary. While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently use their hands.

Frequent walking and reaching with hands and arms is expected, along with occasional crouching and kneeling.

Must be able to climb ladders to retrieve items stored in overhead racks, such as meat trays and wrapping materials.

Ability to work in refrigerated coolers and cutting rooms, and endure temperature extremes in frozen food storage areas for short periods is required.

Compliance with all safety policies and procedures is mandatory. Sufficient physical mobility or agility is necessary to disassemble and clean meat department equipment, including saws and grinders.
