POSITION OVERVIEW
The Research Nurse at NCHRI works in close partnership with physicians to effectively manage all clinical research initiatives across diverse care environments, including Emergency Department, Cath Lab, ICU, Electrophysiology Lab, Step Down, Operating Room, and outpatient settings. This role involves overseeing research-related patient care, facilitating participant enrollment, ensuring patient retention in clinical trials, reporting progress to sponsors, and coordinating study involvement with other clinical care strategies. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are essential for success in this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises clinical research projects, ensuring accurate and timely data collection.
- Conducts necessary procedures and data gathering activities in observational contexts.
- Acts as the primary clinical liaison for study sponsors, patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ensures data integrity and completeness, supported by medical records and pertinent documentation.
- Facilitates physician oversight of all data and guarantees prompt delivery to sponsors.
- Coordinates research tasks and patient activities in compliance with Good Clinical Practice.
- Assists in maintaining accurate protocol processes and conducting patient follow-up assessments.
- Promotes high patient retention and enrollment in research studies.
- Engages in patient care responsibilities associated with the research project.
- Provides nursing expertise and decision-making support to non-RN team members.
- Represents the NCH Research Institute in all professional interactions.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Critical Care/Cardiology preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency in computer applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
