Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse will be responsible for triaging patients by telephone or walk-in, determining the urgency and level of care needed. The RN will assist the Practice Manager in supervising clinical support staff and provide patient care under the guidance of CHP Physicians.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate comprehensive care for all patients
- Provide relevant patient education, including education during initial pregnancy visits, post-operative, and post-partum
- Make patient appointments and coordinate timely scheduling of appointments for ancillary services and specialty referrals
- Respond to patient emergencies within the scope of RN license
- Screen, triage, and respond to patients' inquiries via telephone, EMR messages, or walk-in
- Assist physicians in procedures requiring nursing level support, administer immunizations, and manage requests for prescription medication
- Process laboratory results, pull charts, review, and hold partials, flagging abnormal for provider review and filing normal
- Chart all procedures performed
- Assist with running daily controls on equipment and ensure that billing codes are correct
- Other routine office duties as requested
- An RN/BSN from an accredited school of nursing is required
- Current BLS certification
- A minimum of three years' experience in an ambulatory setting is preferred
- Recent experience in the medical office/outpatient setting preferred
- Experience in an OB/GYN setting required
- Electronic medical records experience is required
- Licensed as a RN by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
