Job Summary

The Chief Clinical Officer represents the Loyola Medical Group to external organizations and works in dyad fashion with the Vice President Medical Group and Ambulatory Sites to provide executive leadership and operational direction of the Loyola Medical Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care: Leads the development and implementation of standard work that will ensure successful performance in alternative payment models across Loyola Medicine and Trinity Health and the highest levels of clinical care for our patients across all areas of service.
  • Growth: Sustains the growth trajectory of the Loyola Medical Group and Loyola Physician partners (CIN); ensures processes are in place to add high quality providers, staff, and facilities as required.
  • Planning: Participates in accountable-care and clinical integration strategic development in alignment with Loyola Medicine goals.
  • Financial Management: Develops capital and operational budgets to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support operation of Loyola Medicine programs and meet organizational goals.
  • Organizing Resources: Arranges systems, functions and resources within span of control to maximize quality of service/high patient satisfaction and efficient operations.
  • Team-Building: Fosters a culture consistent with the Trinity Health values, positive team collaboration and staff development to facilitate efficient operations, physician/colleague engagement and achievement of patient service/safety/satisfaction goals.
  • Communication: Provides effective communication to local and Trinity Health administration, physicians, faculty, management and staff to establish understanding of the organization mission and strategic goals necessary to achieve organizational goals.
  • Professional Development: Actively engages in professional development to maintain current skills and knowledge of environment trends, clinical developments and business opportunities.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Osteopathy (D.O.), board certified in a clinical specialty, coupled with advanced formal training in public health or administration.
  • Five (5) or more years of executive leadership experience, including responsibility for fiscal and medical staff management.
  • Five (5) or more years of clinical practice experience.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding in trends in health care, including physician-hospital relationships, physician practice models, access issues, quality improvement processes, clinical information systems, and the implications of the changing health care environment for medical credentialing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills required in order to initiate and develop productive working partnerships with all levels of management/leadership and staff.
