Job Overview

The Senior BIM Project Lead is responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective shop drawings that benefit our operations teams by seamlessly transitioning into fabrication and installation. This role oversees 3D modeling and coordination processes on multiple projects, aiming to create the most cost-effective product possible for our Regional Operational Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with BIM/VDC Manager, Project Management, and Field Leadership to read and understand specifications and contract documents, establishing a plan of attack within the framework of your BIM budget.
  2. Utilize advanced knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems, code interpretation, and Bernhard best practices to create annotated installation and layout drawings.
  3. Work with QA/QC team and BIM/VDC Manager to identify routing efficiencies that maximize BIM's value on your project(s).
  4. Clearly communicate the agreed-upon plan of attack to internal BIM/VDC team members and/or outsourcers assisting you.
  5. Quality control products on your project(s), whether drawn by you or another BIM resource.
  6. Mastery of BIM/VDC processes, including clash detection and embedded data, and polish technical communication skills as an industry leader in coordination and collaboration.
  7. Ensure adherence to departmental protocols for file management.
  8. Aim for proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication, Navisworks Manage, Bluebeam, and other BIM software.
  9. Learns internal processes of trusted outsource partners to understand generated budgets and optimize received products.
  10. Works with BIM/VDC Manager, Regional BIM/VDC Director, and Regional Operations Team to schedule deliveries of Trimble layout drawings, shop drawings, BOMs, fabrication drawings, and as-built meeting direct needs of your project(s).
  11. Participate in training opportunities.
  12. Adhere to the departmental code of ethics, exemplifying professionalism and leadership representing Bernhard.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 4 to 7 years of BIM experience.
  • Advanced building systems, code, fabrication, and installation knowledge.
  • Advanced software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication, and Bluebeam) knowledge.
  • Complete understanding of the BIM/VDC process.
  • Ability to maintain patience and understanding in a stress-filled environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and company competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of scope when necessary.

Salary and Benefits

This Full-Time Exempt position reports to the Regional BIM/VDC Director. The estimated annual salary range is USD $66,100.00 - USD $88,300.00, depending on location and qualifications.
