Job Summary

Meadowood Nursing Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infection Prevention Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our nursing management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing infection control policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of quality resident care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Infection Control Policies: Create and maintain comprehensive infection control policies and procedures to prevent and control the spread of infections within the facility.
  • Conduct Staff Training and Education: Provide regular training and education to nursing staff on infection control best practices, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and isolation procedures.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Infection Control Practices: Conduct regular audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection control strategies that promote a culture of safety and quality.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with the latest infection control guidelines, regulations, and research to ensure that our facility remains at the forefront of infection prevention and control.
Requirements
  • Certified Infection Preventionist (CIP) Certification: Must be certified as a CIP by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).
  • Experience in Infection Control: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in infection control, preferably in a long-term care or acute care setting.
  • Strong Leadership and Communication Skills: Must possess excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate infection control policies and procedures to nursing staff.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities to ensure the highest level of quality resident care.
