Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team in Richmond, VA. As a key member of our staff, you will provide individualized treatment plans, conduct group and individual counseling sessions, and collaborate with referring agencies and community organizations to advocate for client needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the needs of each client.
  • Provide counseling and educational services in group and individual settings, focusing on developing coping strategies and promoting recovery.
  • Manage detailed client documentation, including assessment reports and progress notes.
  • Facilitate various therapeutic groups, incorporating evidence-based interventions and techniques.
  • Serve as a liaison to advocate for client needs with community organizations and referring agencies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Current state licensure as an LMHP, LMHP-R, LMHP-S, or LMHP-RP, or certification as a CSAC or CSAC-S.
  • At least one year of experience in substance abuse counseling, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in case management software and electronic health records.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Licensure as an LMHP, LMHP-R, LMHP-S, or LMHP-RP.
  • Certification as a CSAC or CSAC-S.
  • Experience working with underserved populations or in a similar role.
Salary and Benefits:
