Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our Middleton, MA team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will perform a wide variety of maintenance duties to help keep our customers' trucks on the road.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and assist in the performance of general mechanical duties, including diagnosing and repairing transmission and clutch failures, differential failures, and other complex issues.
- Work on major components with close supervision, performing troubleshooting on minor problems such as basic check engine lights and symptoms on MX and Cummins products using EDS and Diagnostic Assistant.
- Basic wiring troubleshooting and repairs, as well as diagnostics on HVAC systems and replacement of parts as needed.
- Remove and replace external engine components such as exhaust manifolds, EGR coolers & valves, and replace fuel injectors and perform overhead valve and injector adjustments & tune-up.
- Proficient with welding, torch cutting, and fabrication, and work on major components with close supervision.
- Attend training sessions and meetings, maintain a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
- Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary, follows safe work practices and procedures, and uses safety equipment when required.
- Minimum 1-2 years hands-on experience and on-the-job training in a related mechanical field, or graduate of vocational courses or equivalent experience and training.
- Experience in truck dealership preferred but not required, A/C and Brake experience, CAT Engine experience preferred but not required, MX Engine experience preferred, Cummins Engine experience preferred, Electrical experience, and necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
- CDL preferred, but not required.
