We are seeking a skilled Mineral Processing Laboratory Technician to join our team at Geotemps / Geopros. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for carrying out various tasks assigned by our Metallurgical Engineer or designated supervisor.
Key Responsibilities- Sample receipt and inventory management, including weighing and recording samples.
- Lab ID and sample labeling according to established procedures.
- Sample preparation, including crushing, blending, and screening.
- Assisting in flotation processes and maintaining laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Performing routine chemical and metallurgical analysis, handling chemical reagents safely, and disposing of residues properly.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting results promptly.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with prior experience in analytical laboratories, chemistry, core handling, or mining being preferred but not necessary.
- The ability to utilize basic math skills to calculate dilution factors and solution concentrations accurately.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as problem-solving and basic math skills.
- The capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality assurance and compliance.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
This role requires working in an indoor environment with exposure to noise, vibration, and atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system. A respirator must be worn during work hours.
The estimated salary for this position is $14.50 per hour, reflecting the technical requirements and industry standards for mineral processing laboratory technicians.
