Job Summary

Boswell Engineering is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our team. As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects meet the required standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect Construction Sites: Conduct on-site inspections of highway and bridge projects to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Document Inspection Results: Complete daily inspection reports and prepare sketches and data to support field changes.
  • Ensure Safety Protocols: Verify that contractors' operations comply with safety protocols and contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Assist Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, and Chief Inspectors in tracking pay items, MPT compliance, site safety, and contract-specific requirements.
  • Adhere to Company Standards: Ensure general compliance with Boswell Engineering's standards and specifications.
  • Perform Office and Field Duties: Conduct both office and field construction inspection duties.
Requirements
  • Education: Associates or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering for NICET equivalency.
  • Certifications: NICET Certification, ACI Field Technician Certification, Traffic Control Certification, and NETTCP, NACE, and/or SSPC Certification (if applicable).
  • Experience: Prior experience as a Construction Inspector on NYSDOT transportation projects, with supervisory experience for NICET III/IV assignments (if applicable).
  • Skills: Ability to interpret plans/specifications, document collected data, and work with MURK and SiteManager.
