Responsibilities:- Assist in the planning and design of commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring compliance with local agency standards and guidelines.
- Perform design, drafting, computing, checking, and direction for field operations involved in the gathering and compilation of field data.
- Review improvement plans, including street, grading, water, sewer, and storm drain plans, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and design engineering plans and documents, including grading, drainage, street, sewer, water, and other related plans.
- Prepare cost and quantity estimates, tabulate and summarize statistical data, and prepare reports to support project decisions.
- Prepare and review drainage reports, calculations, and storm water quality management plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Fundamentals of civil engineering, mathematics, and physics as applied to engineering, topography, and construction surveying and analytical mechanics.
- Excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently on multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university, with a strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
- Working knowledge of public agency standards and guidelines, with the ability to adapt to local agency requirements.
- Assist in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater projects, pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and treatment facilities.
- Produce plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of various engineering reports, including alignment and feasibility studies, preliminary design reports, and Master Plans.
- Hydraulic modeling of water and sewer systems to ensure efficient and effective design.
- Coordinate engineering tasks during project construction, including permitting issues, submittal reviews, survey coordination, and change order reviews.
- Design mechanical-related projects, including pump and lift stations, wells, and treatment facilities, with site grading plans.
- Ability to produce drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs using CAD software.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and two years' experience in related projects, with a strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
- Possession of PE license, with proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of planning and construction documents, with the ability to adapt to local agency requirements.
- Excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently on multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to read, understand, and adapt to local agency standards and communicate with agencies and clients directly and effectively.
