Job Title: IDD Facility Nurse (LPN)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate nurse to provide high-quality care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The IDD Facility Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for delivering holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This includes providing health-related training to unlicensed personnel, administering medications and treatments, and assisting with preventative and routine medical appointments.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Assist the Registered Nurse in delivering quality nursing services to persons supported
  • Provide health-related training to unlicensed personnel
  • Administer medications and treatments or assist the person supported with medication administration
  • Assist with ensuring preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled
  • Conduct medication closest assessments
  • Collect health-related data
  • Observe for and report any abnormal health-related findings to the physician
  • Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
  • Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited licensed nurse program
  • Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing
  • Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families
  • Ability to work independently, be organized, and possess the ability to prioritize work tasks
  • Physical requirements include: ability to regularly lift 20 pounds, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, pull a minimum of 25 pounds, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop, regularly stand and walk, and demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
