Role Summary:
The primary function of the Harvest Technician is to execute the harvesting and processing of floral materials, as well as to maintain cleanliness and organization within the work areas, including dry rooms and harvesting equipment. This role requires meeting stringent daily production targets in terms of both quantity and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold rigorous cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Adhere to all operational guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training protocols.
- Keep accurate records and maintain an orderly workspace.
- Engage in all harvesting activities, including chopping, weighing, hanging, waste management, and equipment sanitization.
- Assist in bucking tasks, such as removing plants from drying areas, operating bucking machinery, and managing flower and waste separation.
- Ensure the cleaning of work surfaces and irrigation systems to prepare for subsequent harvests.
- Complete assigned tasks punctually and be open to additional responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain clear communication with management and colleagues regarding production outputs.
- Support other departments as required within the production framework.
- Be adaptable to varying temperature conditions ranging from 55°F to 85°F.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age due to legal requirements.
- Successful completion of a Federal and State criminal background check is mandatory.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
Preferred Skills:
- Attention to detail, particularly as it pertains to the delicate nature of plants.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Compliance with all HR policies, including confidentiality agreements.
- Strong communication skills with management and peers.
- Demonstrated work ethic; must be responsible and proactive.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced production setting.
- No allergies to plant materials or nitrile gloves, as daily exposure is expected.
Work Environment:
- This position requires on-site presence five days a week.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform various physical tasks, including sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 80 lbs. with assistance.
- Engagement in repetitive tasks akin to an assembly line throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in a cannabis cultivation facility with strong odors, bright lighting, and various ambient sounds.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as scrubs, masks, gloves, and hairnets will be provided by DCM.
