About Inova Schar Cancer Institute: The Inova Schar Cancer Institute Fair Oaks serves as a vital extension of our main facility located in the Washington, DC metro area, focusing on providing comprehensive care and support to our patients. Our multidisciplinary team includes leading doctors, specialists, and caregivers committed to delivering exceptional cancer care from diagnosis through survivorship.

Clinic Environment: Situated within the Fair Oaks Hospital campus, our outpatient clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and observes all recognized holidays. There are no on-call duties associated with this position.

Role Responsibilities: As an oncology nurse clinician, you will utilize your specialized knowledge to deliver safe and effective therapeutic care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating patients during each clinic visit and managing symptoms related to their cancer and treatment.
  • Providing education to patients regarding their conditions and treatment options.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely diagnostic evaluations and treatments.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Education: BSN or ADN (with a commitment to complete BSN within 5 years).
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Current RN licensure and eligibility to practice in Virginia.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with proficient computer skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
