Patient Care Technician

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, this Patient Care Technician role assists with patients' activities of daily living and plan of care. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and their families, while maintaining high standards of professional ethics.
Key Responsibilities- Support patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and mobility assistance.
- Perform technical duties as directed by RN/LPN, such as vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and foley catheter care.
- Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN/LPN and respond accordingly.
- Reinforce patient and family education on individual care needs and safety issues.
- Participate in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures, and standards.
- Strong communication skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS certification.
- Phlebotomy training/education required for Emergency Department positions.
