REGISTERED NURSE (RN)
Part-Time, Weekend Shifts
Position Overview:
- Ensure high-quality nursing care for patients by adhering to physician directives, as well as state and federal regulations, alongside our facility's policies.
- Administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous) as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Supervise and mentor nursing assistants and orderlies to maintain a high standard of care.
- Assist physicians during rounds as required.
- Provide support and care for patients during medical examinations and treatments.
- Conduct scheduled treatments during your shift and maintain accurate documentation, ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
- Comply with all cleanliness and infection control regulations, including Standard/Universal Precautions.
- Participate in research initiatives related to nursing care quality, as assigned.
- Assist with patient admissions, including scheduling annual physicals with attending physicians and ensuring timely completion of necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Nurse, having graduated from an accredited nursing program.
- Possess a current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing, with proof of renewal submitted biennially.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing quality nursing care, following physician orders, with a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
- CPR certification required annually.
- Participation in in-service training and staff meetings is mandatory.
- Ability to oversee nursing assistants, ensuring timely and appropriate completion of assignments.
- Dependable and flexible, with the ability to collaborate effectively with nursing staff, other departments, and to engage compassionately with patients and their families.
- Capable of making informed decisions regarding nursing issues, understanding the potential impact of errors on patient care.
