About the Tutor Position

The Tutor position at Sylvan Learning Centers is a part-time opportunity that provides a positive and personal learning experience for students. Our Tutors build balanced yet robust learning experiences, evaluate progress on each assignment, and foster an environment for personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage students and initiate instructions
  • Instruct students as designed and prescribed by the Sylvan programs
  • Manage time, tasks, and students during the instructional session
  • Evaluate and record assignment progress for each student
  • Support procedures to ensure student safety and well-being

Requirements:

  • One to two years of teaching experience
  • Knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension
  • Four-year degree or equivalent
  • State teaching credentials - current or expired
