About the Job
We are seeking a skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Virginia. This role involves working on exciting projects involving stormwater management, floodplain management, hydraulic modeling, drainage design, resiliency design, and watershed planning. As a key member of our Transportation Department's Water Resources Group, you will work closely with our experienced team to deliver high-quality services to our clients.
Responsibilities
As a Water Resources Engineer, your primary duties will include:
- Conducting watershed and stormwater management planning and design.
- Performing water quality and quantity analysis to meet applicable state and local criteria.
- Providing technical assistance for hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using various techniques and models.
- Floodplain mapping and assisting with written reports documenting floodplain studies.
- Assisting in preparation of proposals, work scopes, and cost estimates.
- Performing roadway drainage design, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and floodplain analyses.
- Project management and staff development.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in water resources engineering.
- A strong working knowledge of Virginia Department of Transportation drainage design and hydrology and hydraulic analysis.
- Knowledge/experience with HEC-RAS, Microstation, and ArcGIS.
- Experience in watershed and stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, drainage, erosion, and sediment control, and watershed/waterway modeling.
- An active EIT or P.E. in VA.
Salary and Benefits
