Optometric Technician

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Optometric Technician to join our team at Steven B Richlin OD Inc. The ideal candidate will assist our optometrists in providing top-quality eye care services.

• Conduct pre-tests and gather patient medical histories to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
• Assist with visual acuity testing and lensometry to provide precise measurements and recommendations.
• Perform retinal imaging and other diagnostic tests to identify potential eye health issues.
• Maintain and clean examination equipment to ensure optimal functionality and patient safety.
• Educate patients on contact lens care and eyewear options to promote healthy vision and eye health.
• Manage patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations to minimize wait times and maximize productivity.
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the clinic.

• Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a similar role is preferred, but not required.
• A strong understanding of optometric procedures and equipment is essential for success in this role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for effective patient interaction and collaboration with the optometrist team.
• Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are critical for managing multiple responsibilities and prioritizing tasks.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems is required for accurate data entry and record-keeping.
• Certification as an Optometric Technician (COA or COT) is a plus, but not mandatory.
