Job Summary

This position is part of our Advanced Development Program (ADP), a historic Skunk Works in Palmdale, CA. We are seeking a world-class Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the creation of advanced aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
  • Create and establish program system engineering processes and standard operating procedures, including supporting training material.
  • Develop system architecture and system design documentation.
  • Develop system requirements specifications through analysis of program requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures.
  • Lead design and development activities based on system requirements analysis.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advising alternative approaches, and conducting feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, Interface Control documents, and System Integration and Test plans.
  • Explore and implement advanced modeling features to integrate data across functional lines.
Interacting with the Customer
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience developing system architectures and requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership of small or large technical teams.
  • Experience in program standup, establishment of processes and standard operating procedures, and team building.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in the resolution of highly complex issues, including direct interaction with senior leadership within company and customer organizations and a demonstrated ability to deal with complex and challenging customer and supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in Cameo, SysML, and other MBSE-related tools and skills.
  • Experience with Technical Baseline Management.
Desired Skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
  • Knowledge and application of Model-Based Systems Engineering processes and functions.
  • Experience with Dassault 3DX or other integrated Product Lifecycle Management tool.
  • Test and verification experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with communicating cross-functionally.
  • Prior experience leading major milestone reviews (SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR).
  • Experience in the design, development, and production phases of a contract.
  • Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management.

Ability to Work Remotely

This position is onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed.

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington, or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400.

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location.

Non-represented full-time employees

Accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons.

Receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month.

Accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually.

Receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $135,800 - $256,000.

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location.
