About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cognos Developer to join our team at Purdue University. As a Cognos Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing reporting solutions using Cognos software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting Development: Design and develop reports using Cognos software to meet the needs of various stakeholders within the university.
  • Database Management: Work with the database administrator to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data extraction, load, and transformation jobs.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users on the use of Cognos software and its features.
  • License Management: Track and maintain licenses for Cognos software and grant licenses to new users as needed.
  • System Upgrades: Participate in testing and troubleshooting processes for enterprise reporting system and database upgrades.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience developing SQL scripts and some experience using enterprise reporting tools.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a higher education environment.
