About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Aviation Parts Cleaning Specialist to join our team at StandardAero. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality cleaning and preparation of metal parts and components for our aerospace customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment such as vapour blasters, wheelabrators, deburrers, and blast cabinets to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other material from surfaces of metal parts, castings, and other metal products.
  • Perform in-process cleaning, air drying, and buffing to ensure parts meet our high standards.
  • Immerse metal products in chemical cleaning and stripping solutions to remove contaminants and prepare parts for further processing.
  • Prepare and mask surfaces prior to cleaning to prevent damage and ensure accurate results.
  • Prepare parts for non-destructive testing to ensure their integrity and quality.
  • Clean and maintain cleaning tanks and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Monitor chemicals through titration checks to ensure they are at the correct concentration.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of processes to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
  • Cross-train in other complementary skills to support production requirements and enhance your skills.
  • Observe all applicable safety requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods is necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 75% of the average workday.
Desired Characteristics
  • Thorough knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials is essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of titrating chemicals is required.
  • Working knowledge of material safety data sheets and the handling of hazardous materials/chemicals is necessary.
  • Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, MSDS labels, and original equipment manufacturer manuals for cleaning and related processes is required.
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems is desirable.
