Nursing Support Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Support Assistant to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care as directed by registered nurses, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care.
- Obtain and maintain the integrity of specimens, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Perform EKGs as assigned, following accepted practices and protocols.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and fulfill designated responsibilities for ongoing care.
- Transport blood and blood products as needed, ensuring timely delivery to the Blood Bank.
- Assist in problem-solving and troubleshooting equipment issues, ensuring adequate supplies are available on the unit.
- Provide one-to-one patient safety watch as assigned, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Complete clerical responsibilities, including task completion and documentation.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience (preferred)
- Certification(s) and License(s) as required by the state and employer
