About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our client facilities organization by providing technical expertise in facility infrastructure planning, design, and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facility Infrastructure Planning: Develop and implement plans for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and mechanical systems, to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Design and Construction Projects: Serve as the technical consultant for electrical aspects of energy conservation and new construction and repair projects, including investigation, criteria, design, construction, implementation, and fuel utilization.
  • Construction Administration: Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects, including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports.
  • Scope of Work and Cost Estimate: Develop the Scope of Work and Construction Cost Estimate for assigned projects.
  • Technical Advice and Assistance: Provide technical advice and assistance to the Sustainment and Asset Management Division (SAD) on technical problems encountered during operation and maintenance activities.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a strongly related field of study, minimum of 6-8 years of experience required. Alternatively, Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a strongly related field of study, minimum of 3-5 years of experience required.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to lead, learn, and work in a fast-paced environment under limited supervision; capable of working as part of a team to meet deadlines; effective oral and written communication skills; proficient computer and software skills, including knowledge of Windows, MS Office Suite, and AutoCAD (2015 edition minimum); strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changes and willingness to be flexible; working knowledge of National Electrical Code and electrical equipment standards; conversant in engineering, architectural, and construction principles; experience with construction and design on electrical systems for facilities in the United States; and ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.
Work Environment

This position will take place primarily in an office setting. Some positions or sites may require that the incumbent be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
