Job Title: Registered Radiologic Technologist

Job Specialty: Heart & Vascular Institute - Vascular Interventional Radiology

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night - 9x- 5 PM to 2 AM

Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 hours per week

Experience: Previous Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural setting preferred

License: IEMA Radiography License

Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • ARRT Radiography (R)

Must-Have:

  • Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately
  • Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others
  • Manual dexterity to handle small supplies
  • Experience with Interventional Neurology is preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer contrast material according to physician's request; recognize and respond to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
  • Assist with inventory and supply management.
  • Verify correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
  • Compile pertinent clinical information related to lab and pathology.
  • Assist in training new staff as necessary.
  • Accurately document all necessary information.
  • Explain procedures to patients and provide care, ensuring comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Inform procedural nurse of correct doses of intraprocedural medications, radiation, and counts.
  • Perform oncall duties and work variable shifts as required.
  • Administer and withhold contrast and treatment as appropriate.
  • Assess patients for allergies.
  • Perform peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization work, venous thrombectomy work, dialysis work, tube access and changes, and neuro procedures when applicable.
  • Maintain a sterile field during procedures and pull necessary supplies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Interventional Neurology.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a procedural setting.
