About the Role:

Amergis is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians with medical diagnoses by producing high-quality images of patients' internal organs and tissues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of complex ultrasound procedures, including abdominal studies, OB-GYN procedures, and colorflow ultrasound
  • Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instruments using sonographic techniques
  • Utilize accessory equipment, such as transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations
  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain procedures to patients
  • Report changes in patient condition to medical staff
  • Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist
  • Evaluate the quality of sonograms and determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated
  • Maintain patient records following facility policy and procedure

Requirements:

  • Certification from an accredited ultrasound school
  • One year of experience as an ultrasound technician preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
