Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Patient Services Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare operations team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greets patients, families, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, directing them to the appropriate area.
  • Maintains efficient patient flow through the registration process, providing excellent customer service.
  • Answers phone calls, directs them appropriately, takes accurate messages, and delivers them to the right person.
  • Informs patients of delays in physician schedules, assists with patient comfort while delayed.
  • Posts self-pay charges, collects payments, and provides patients with receipts, accurately reconciling daily payments.
  • Opens and closes batches properly, reconciles collections, prepares deposits, and documents corrections.
  • Scans insurance cards, processes verifications using our online system, and updates patient accounts.
  • Schedules appointments accurately, using waitlists when necessary, and confirms future appointments as needed.
  • Schedules and enters orders for diagnostic tests and procedures, following all appropriate workflows.
  • Works cooperatively with Patient Care Resources and clinical staff to ensure timely pre-authorizations.
  • Completes referrals according to departmental guidelines and enters them into the appropriate system.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
  • Previous PSR experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in computer use required; previous experience with Standard Office Technology in a Windows-based environment preferred.
