Job OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Loom Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of shuttleless looms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate shuttleless looms designed for weaving narrow textiles such as ribbons, tapes, and elastics.
- Load filling-yarn packages onto holders and guide yarn ends through various components using a loom hook.
- Interpret loom diagrams to facilitate the drawing in of looms.
- Monitor the weaving area to inspect fabric for any defects and identify the causes of loom interruptions, including issues with warp, binder, filler, or catch breaks.
- Repair broken yarn ends and restart the loom.
- Inform the Supervisor of any weaving defects resulting from mechanical issues.
- Remove woven fabric boxes once the specified yardage is achieved, replace bins, and resume loom operation.
- Thread and tie-in warp, binder, and/or stuffer yarns through harnesses for transitions to new patterns.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience operating Muller shuttleless looms.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Capability to lift packages weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of 72 inches regularly.
- Proficiency in performing basic calculations.
- Skill in completing necessary paperwork accurately.
- Dependability, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, reliable attendance, effective communication skills, and good comprehension abilities are essential.
This position is designated for the 2nd Shift.
