Job Summary

RailWorks is seeking a skilled Truck Driver - CDL Class B to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe operation of industrial trucks in the transport and delivery of construction materials to railroad construction jobsites, warehouses, or storage yards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Commercial Trucks: Safely operate commercial trucks on public roadways in accordance with prevailing traffic laws and regulations, and according to company safety policies.
  • Loading and Unloading: Operate trucks in the loading and off-loading of materials, ensuring that cargo is properly secured for transport.
  • Inventories and Inspections: Conduct regular inventories and inspections of goods to be moved to confirm quantities and conditions.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Document vehicle deficiencies and provide notice to the maintenance department to ensure that vehicles are properly maintained.
  • Communication: Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience operating commercial motor vehicles in a railroad construction or related environment.
  • Licenses and Certifications: A valid Commercial Driver's License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Driving Record.
  • Safety and Compliance: Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety requirements and procedures, including Federal DOT regulations.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to move or lift heavy materials up to 50 pounds, and work in harsh weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Specialized Equipment: Experience with roll-back, tilt-deck, and dump-truck operations.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight.
