Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Commercial Installer include, but are not limited to:

  • Installation of diverse commercial HVAC systems such as furnaces, air conditioners, air handlers, mini-splits, rooftop units, unit heaters, boilers, and chillers.
  • Reviewing project drawings for potential conflicts.
  • Coordinating with other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Accurately sizing, cutting, insulating, and installing metal ductwork.
  • Understanding the requirements for kitchen hoods, exhaust systems, welded ducts, and make-up air systems.
  • Managing project areas with minimal supervision while mentoring apprentices.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Fostering a positive team environment and enhancing customer relationships.
  • Overseeing small projects or phases of larger projects, ensuring completion within budget and timeline.
  • Providing input on value engineering opportunities.
  • Maintaining an open-minded approach to innovative ideas.
  • Offering constructive feedback for installer evaluations.
  • Understanding the operational sequences of mechanical equipment.
  • Collaborating with project leaders to promote efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Completing weekly time cards accurately.
Work Environment

Installers may be required to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather. The role may also involve working in confined spaces and climbing ladders.

Qualifications
  • Aerial lift certification.
  • Crane lift and rigging certification.
