About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN to join our team at HCA Florida Mercy Hospital. As a Labor and Delivery RN, you will provide direct nursing care to expecting mothers, supporting them before, during, and after labor. You will also be responsible for the direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation
  • Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team
  • Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues
  • Evaluate the obstetrical patient for any situation that may compromise the well-being of mother and fetus
  • Participate in routine delivery as well as planned or emergent Cesarean Sections
  • Act as an advocate for patient safety
  • Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment
  • Educate patients regarding their medications, procedure, and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay

Requirements

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida, or recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements)
  • Graduate from a professional accredited school of nursing preferred
  • Current BLS & ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • NRP & AWHONN Certifications (30 Day Grace Period)
  • 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
