Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technology Instructor to join our team at Lehigh Carbon Community College. As a part-time instructor, you will be responsible for teaching non-credit manufacturing and skill development courses to eligible students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in accordance with the master course outline and within the schedule of classes.
  • Recommend changes to the instructional programs and curricula as required.
  • Keep and submit appropriate academic records in accordance with program requirements.
  • Maintain instructional effectiveness by ongoing self-evaluation and incorporating current developments in instructional and learning strategies.
  • Assist the College in keeping technology, facilities, and equipment current.
  • Plan with the assistance of the Program Manager to insure availability of supplies, textbooks, and classroom equipment requisite to the successful teaching of assigned classes.
  • Assist in preparation of academic schedules specifically the manufacturing technology offerings.
  • Work with the Program Manager and other College staff in responding to student needs.
  • Coordinate program activities with lab facilities or organizations providing similar training for the College.
  • Prepare the recommended schedule for all specialized courses.
  • Serve as a liaison to LCCC Faculty insuring basic instruction meets requirements for students to transition into advanced certificate and degree programs.
  • Encourage and assist students in utilizing self-service features available through the online platform.
  • Maintain memberships in professional organizations related to the program.
  • Promote safety culture and safe work environment for students and others.
Requirements
  • High School Degree.
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university, related military experience, or 10 years of advanced manufacturing experience.
  • Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting).
  • One to two years previous teaching or coaching experience in the manufacturing or maintenance environment.
  • Minimum three years hands on experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment requiring electrical and mechanical installations and repairs or troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in a community college or adult education environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Bilingual (Spanish).
  • Experience with AMATROL instructional equipment and software.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
