Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at Watsco. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for generating sales orders while ensuring optimal customer service. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide them with the best possible solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and enter their sales orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate with customers to understand their needs and provide them with information about our products and services.
  • Help customers by suggesting associated and additional products related to their sales order.
  • Assist customers in locating items within the branch and communicate with warehouse personnel to ensure accurate delivery.
  • Verify that correct items and quantities are delivered to the dock for customer pickup.
  • Answer phone calls and assist customers with their inquiries.
  • Help customers with technical inquiries about our products.
  • Invoice counter sales orders, including all orders shipped via customer pickup.
  • Generate C.O.D. account deposits and reconcile cash sales in preparation for the end of day Cash Sales Reconciliation report.
  • Request and match sales orders, voided orders, and C.O.D. deposits to the Cash Reconciliation report.
  • Generate warranty credit memos for customers and issue customer credit memos with Branch Operations Manager's approval.
  • Void sales orders with Branch Operations Manager's written approval.
  • Maintain displays for stock items sold from the counter sales area and ensure the counter area is neat and organized.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Branch Operations Manager.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as requested by the Branch Operations Manager.
  • Ability to read and comprehend a variety of informational documentation, procedures, and correspondence.
  • Ability to read and write correspondence with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers and employees.
  • Good voice quality and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Manual dexterity to use office machines and equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift equipment components, parts, and machinery.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and/or walk occasionally.

Working Conditions:

The work is mostly performed in a traditional office setting. However, you must also be able to perform work in a warehouse that may be dimly lit with exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and airborne particles. There is some risk of exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and gases, outside weather conditions, extreme cold or heat, and loud noises.
