Job Summary

Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital seeks a highly skilled Pharmacy Buyer to join our team. As a Pharmacy Buyer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the procurement of pharmaceuticals and related supplies is conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the procurement process for pharmaceuticals and related supplies, ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Conduct research and analysis of providers to identify alternative sources and negotiate contracts.
  • Facilitate the resolution of supply issues with vendors and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Monitor wholesaler performance and report discrepancies to recover lost monies.
  • Participate in negotiations for pricing, terms, service, and delivery of pharmaceuticals.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Two years of college preferred.
  • Three years of relevant pharmacy and/or purchasing experience.
  • Experience in healthcare and working with vendor contracts highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • LPHT - Licensed Pharmacy Tech - State Registration.
  • Advanced level of knowledge of the procurement process experience in a hospital or related field.
  • Possesses proficient computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems to include, but not limited to, word processing software applications.
