Our teams are a committed, caring group of colleagues who value positive patient interactions. We are looking for dedicated professionals who want to work as RN Student Nurses in Emergency Rooms where their passion for creating positive patient experiences is valued.
The RN Student Nurse will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and assist the nursing staff in providing patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality, patient-centered care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.
- Working closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
- Obtaining and recording initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care.
- Assisting with patient mobility by regularly turning, positioning, and ambulating patients, as well as transferring them to and from other units/departments.
- Translating complex medical terminology to ensure patients/families/caregivers understand patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects and follow-up measures.
- Educating patients/families/caregivers on healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and/or lifestyle changes that may be needed upon discharge and prepares for future self-management.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- To be currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing.
- To possess the ability to create and implement a personal career development plan, to be reviewed regularly by supervisor and/or preceptor.
- To have one year of completed nursing school preferred.
- To hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- To complete Nursing Fundamentals.
- To possess Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure.
