Position Summary:
The Outboard Engine Mechanic will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for:

  • Conducting repairs on marine engines utilizing hand and power tools, along with technical manuals.
  • Regularly inspecting and testing engine equipment to identify issues.
  • Maintaining outboard engines from various manufacturers, including Honda and Yamaha, with power ratings up to 250HP.
  • Possessing the necessary tools and expertise to service, diagnose, and repair Yamaha and Honda outboards.
  • Addressing mechanical issues related to boat steering systems and propellers.
  • Managing multiple work orders and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Exhibiting strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Demonstrating professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Maintaining an organized and clean workspace.
  • Working independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Utilizing computer diagnostic tools for various marine engine applications.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical accessories in boats, including bilge pumps and charging systems.
  • Possessing skills in boat handling and assisting with launching and hauling operations.
  • Exhibiting a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Working in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Providing and being responsible for personal tools.
  • Meeting security clearance requirements, including a background check.
  • Obtaining necessary access credentials.

Work Environment:
The position involves working at sea, pier side, and at associated facilities.
