Position Overview: The Division of Neonatology at The MetroHealth System is in search of board-certified or eligible neonatologists to become integral members of our esteemed academic team. This role involves delivering exceptional clinical care within our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Leadership Opportunity: We are particularly interested in candidates who are passionate about educational leadership and are willing to take on the role of Associate Program Director for the Neonatal Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program, with the potential to advance to Program Director in the future.

Fellowship Program: The Neonatal Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at MetroHealth-Case Western Reserve University has been accredited by the ACGME since 1985, producing over one hundred successful graduates. More information about this prestigious program can be found on the MetroHealth website.

Clinical Responsibilities: The selected faculty member will operate within an exclusively inborn delivery service unit. Key responsibilities include:

  • Attendance at deliveries alongside the NRP team for high-risk newborns.
  • Management of preterm and term infants, including those with congenital and chromosomal anomalies.
  • Care for complex clinical conditions, with critical congenital heart disease cases being transferred to a regional Level IV neonatal ICU.

Quality of Care: Our core team of neonatologists is dedicated to evidence-based care, developing annual unit-based quality metrics, and functioning cohesively as a group. We are part of the VON database, continuously assessing outcomes against benchmark data.

Academic Rank: The new faculty member will be eligible for Assistant or Associate Professor rank at Case Western Reserve University. Candidates interested in leadership roles will receive dedicated time, mentorship, and support for career advancement and academic success.
