Position Overview:
Mead & Hunt, a well-regarded professional services consulting firm, is seeking a full-time entry-level planner to join our aviation division.
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves supporting various tasks, including:
- developing aviation planning documents such as airport master plans, strategic frameworks, system plans, and airport land use compatibility assessments
- providing comprehensive national and state environmental documentation
- creating presentations for stakeholder and public engagements
- conducting thorough research and data analysis
- gathering and assessing airport, land use, and environmental information
- designing maps, figures, and visual graphics
- composing technical reports and public communication materials
Travel Requirements:
Some travel may be necessary.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in transportation, urban or environmental planning, airport/aviation management, civil engineering, geography/GIS, economics, or a related discipline from an accredited four-year institution.
Preferred Skills:
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- excellent technical writing capabilities
- strong research abilities related to aviation, planning, and environmental issues
- experience working collaboratively in teams as well as independently
- background in public speaking and presentations
- familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD, and/or graphic design tools
- a keen interest in aviation, airport planning, and development
