The Patient Access Advocate / Front Office position entails welcoming patients warmly, managing phone inquiries, inputting data into electronic health records, and performing various clerical tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting patients with friendliness and professionalism, both in person and via phone.
  • Facilitating patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Conducting visit closure activities, including payment collection and follow-up actions for patient care.
  • Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits through electronic systems or direct payer contact, while collecting copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.
  • Assisting colleagues and patients with clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, and faxing documents.
  • Managing phone calls, directing them to the appropriate personnel, and taking messages as necessary.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, which may involve tasks typically associated with housekeeping.
  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients and their families, encouraging return visits to our facilities.
  • Adhering to all HIPAA regulations and policies.
Essential Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting or 1 year in customer service.
  • A basic understanding of insurance processes is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and billing codes is advantageous.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to effectively convey information to patients and colleagues.
  • Problem-solving skills in standardized situations.
  • Independence and self-direction, with the ability to work with diverse individuals.
  • Analytical skills to navigate challenges effectively.

Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 is required prior to employment.
