Job Summary

The Natural Gas Generator Mechanic is a key member of our team at Gravity Oilfield Services, responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of NG generators. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and gas issues on NG generators
  • Perform preventative maintenance on NG engines, both in the shop and in the field
  • Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot and setup engines
  • Extract oil samples from engines in the field
  • Assist in the shop repairing diesel units as needed
  • Foster a positive working relationship with co-workers, customers, clients, and management
  • Complete all safety and equipment-related trainings required on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for answering company-issued cell phone during on-call hours, in accordance with company and safety policies

Requirements

  • High School or GED equivalent, some college or trade school preferred
  • At least two (2) years' experience repairing natural gas or diesel generators
  • Diesel repair experience, including common rail fuel systems and the use of electronic diagnostic tools
  • Basic DC electrical systems and troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to repair all trailer lights, brakes (air, hydraulic, and electric), and axles
  • Wellhead gas experience
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Ability to take direction well
  • Ability to multi-task and provide assistance when needed
  • Dependability and self-motivation

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDL preferred, but not required
  • Common knowledge of AC electricity and excitation
  • Welding and fabrication experience
