We are looking for a Registered Land Surveyor to become a vital member of our Pre-Design Team, concentrating on ALTA Surveys, Boundary Surveys, and Topographic Surveys for various Land Development Projects. This position entails overseeing daily survey operations, acting as the main point of contact for clients, aiding in proposal preparations, and ensuring adherence to legal requirements and company protocols. Projects span across industrial, educational, residential, and commercial sectors, necessitating site visits. This role is primarily office-based, with no field survey collection required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and direct the daily survey tasks of assigned personnel to meet client project objectives.
  • Schedule and allocate field crew assignments daily, coordinating subcontractor efforts as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients regarding the surveying components of projects.
  • Promote effective communication among clients, various departments, team members, and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Assist in initial client consultations for new project proposals and kickoffs to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project scope; contribute to proposal and contract development; and facilitate the successful completion of assigned tasks.
  • Help prepare client proposals, detailing the complete scope of work, pricing, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Review and endorse the technical strategies for project tasks and the intermediate and final deliverables to ensure alignment with client objectives, company quality standards, and applicable local, state, or federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with relevant government agencies and participate in pertinent meetings.
  • Ensure that all internal documentation, such as project proposals, contracts, budget reviews, timecard submissions, invoicing, and project initiation and closure, complies with established company policies and standards.
  • Engage in staff training, professional development, and mentorship initiatives for team members.
Qualifications:
  • Active Registered Land Surveyor in Indiana (or the capability to obtain licensure within the year).
  • Experience with ALTA surveys, including the ability to prepare and stamp documents independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Construction Staking, Construction Layout, and As-built Surveys.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD Civil3D design software.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and technical expertise in land surveying.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple or large-scale survey projects.
  • Project Management experience, including financial data application, strategic planning, and team leadership.
