Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated OR/Surgical Technician to join our team. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, including aseptic preparation and sterilization of instruments and supplies.
- Assist surgical personnel with gowning and gloving, as well as positioning patients for surgery.
- Communicate effectively with surgical teams and sterile processing personnel to ensure instruments and supplies are available for procedures.
- Anticipate and meet the needs of surgical teams during procedures, including restocking and maintaining inventory in the operating rooms and sterile processing department.
- Assist with cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing instruments and supplies, as well as maintaining and cleaning operating rooms.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience in Surgical Services or Practices, or Associate's Degree or Vocational Certificate in Surgical Technology, Veterinary Technology, or related field and 0 years of Surgical Services or Practices.
- Minimum Skills and Abilities: ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, strong communication and teamwork skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
