Job Summary

The Kennel Assistant provides daily care, feeding, and exercise of boarding and hospitalized animals. This role requires attention to detail, compassion, and a commitment to providing exceptional care to our furry friends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care, feeding, and exercise of boarding and hospitalized animals
  • Monitor animals' general health signs, such as stress, changes in eating or elimination habits, and promptly notify technicians and veterinarians when necessary
  • Interact with clients in person and via phone to provide excellent customer service
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medication administration, and veterinary visits
  • Assist with cleaning and disinfecting of animal enclosures, equipment, and facilities
  • Supervise animals during exercise and playtime
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as updating animal records and preparing boarding reports
Requirements
  • Confidence around animals and pets
  • Knowledge of proper animal restraint techniques
  • Knowledge of infectious diseases and how to control and prevent their spread
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
