The Kennel Assistant provides daily care, feeding, and exercise of boarding and hospitalized animals. This role requires attention to detail, compassion, and a commitment to providing exceptional care to our furry friends.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily care, feeding, and exercise of boarding and hospitalized animals
- Monitor animals' general health signs, such as stress, changes in eating or elimination habits, and promptly notify technicians and veterinarians when necessary
- Interact with clients in person and via phone to provide excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medication administration, and veterinary visits
- Assist with cleaning and disinfecting of animal enclosures, equipment, and facilities
- Supervise animals during exercise and playtime
- Perform administrative tasks, such as updating animal records and preparing boarding reports
- Confidence around animals and pets
- Knowledge of proper animal restraint techniques
- Knowledge of infectious diseases and how to control and prevent their spread
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be 16 years of age or older
