Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hospital Medicine Division at Washington University in St. Louis. As an Advanced Practice Clinician (APC), you will provide high-quality patient care to hospitalized patients, collaborating with physicians from the Washington University School of Medicine Division of Hospital Medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and developing and implementing patient-centered plans of care.
- Manage health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of patient medical records, maintain all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
- Work in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure.
- Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis in the Nurse Practitioner program (for Nurse Practitioners) or graduate of PA program (for Physician Assistants).
- Current licensure to practice in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois (depending on location) or ability to obtain within three months of date of hire.
- Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty.
- Basic Life Support certification.
