Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. This role is essential for supporting existing production systems while driving enhancements in safety, quality, cost-efficiency, and cycle time. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for orchestrating and guiding projects, crafting detailed plans to achieve objectives, and overseeing the integration of technical activities, including process optimization, equipment modifications, and material system advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for technical operations within the production environment.
- Identify, design, and execute process enhancements in designated areas utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Provide ongoing technical support for a continuous manufacturing operation in your assigned areas.
- Evaluate technology requirements, resource allocations, and timelines to effectively plan project execution.
- Conduct root cause analyses for failure investigations and other analytical tasks, making informed, data-driven decisions.
- Support the non-conformance program and implement preventive measures.
- Prepare periodic reports or presentations for management and stakeholders regarding specific projects.
- Design and develop new equipment for future production capabilities.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Apply quality standards to guarantee compliance with certification requirements in manufacturing applications.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to develop and validate process modifications and provide technical assistance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and process engineering is preferred.
- Proven track record in technical problem-solving and product/process development.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with GD&T and engineering documentation.
- Experience with industrial tools and equipment is preferred.
- Background in aerospace/high-temperature composites, textiles, or industrial engineering systems is advantageous.
- Exposure to automated and/or robotic systems.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is desirable.
- Interest and understanding of composites and ceramics, or general material science is preferred.
