About the Role

We are seeking a MedPsych physician to join our team at the Medical University of South Carolina Health, where you will play a crucial role in managing the complex interplay of medical and psychiatric needs.

Responsibilities

You will provide clinical care in our new 12-bed inpatient Med-Psych Unit, specifically designed for patients admitted for medical reasons but who also have significant psychiatric comorbidities. These patients may present with conditions such as refractory delirium, catatonia, or substance abuse.

As a MedPsych physician in this unit, you will offer comprehensive care that addresses both aspects of your patients health, including managing the complex interplay of medical and psychiatric needs.

Requirements
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in both Internal Medicine and Psychiatry
  • A scholarly focus on quality improvement and the delivery of high-value healthcare services
  • A commitment to educational excellence and leading inpatient services in a Med-Psych setting
