Compactor Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:
">This role involves performing routine maintenance and repairs on company compactors, containers, and other equipment.
">Responsibilities:

- Safely perform maintenance tasks, including repair, rebuilding, operation, installation, and maintenance of company compactors and other equipment.">
- Comply with all applicable rules and regulations regarding equipment safety.">
- Coordinate compactor rebuilds, repairs, and track costs for parts and labor used.">
- Receive requests for compactor repairs and installations, and coordinate as necessary to ensure completion.">
- Assist the branch with any compactor-related issues.">
- Perform minor welding when needed.">
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs to ensure high-quality service and minimize loads from customers.">
- Stock inventory of standard parts according to designated levels.">
- Adhere to federal, state/provincial, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and company policies and procedures.">
- Possess and maintain necessary tools for task performance.">
- Maintain knowledge of latest technology through technical manuals and training seminars.">
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required by management.">
- Requirements:">

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired.">
- Prior experience in compactor repair and equipment maintenance.">
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of employment.">
- Meet relevant safety-sensitive function criteria according to Company standards.">

- Effective communication skills.">
- Able to follow detailed instructions, work independently, and maintain accurate records.">
- Ability to operate various vehicles and equipment necessary for job performance.">
- Physical ability to perform job requirements.">
- Familiarity with basic electrical apparatus, particularly 3-phase high-voltage systems.">
- Physical/Mental Demands:">

- Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell.">
- Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention required.">
- Visual Requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.">
- Frequent physical effort, handling tools and equipment.">
- Frequently lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.">

About GFL Environmental:
">We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
