UPMC Cole is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Medical/Surgery Unit on the 3rd floor. This is a full-time opportunity that requires night shift work, with a 36-hour workweek and every other weekend rotation.
Responsibilities- Coordinate total nursing care for patients, ensuring their physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs are met.
- Participate in patient and family teaching, promoting health literacy and empowering individuals to manage their care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
- Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Direct, supervise, and evaluate nursing care provided to patients, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Participate in the economical utilization of supplies and maintain equipment in a clean and safe manner.
- Assist with the orientation of new personnel and performance evaluations of the nursing staff.
- Participate in committees focused on improving nursing care and patient safety.
- A current PA RN nursing license is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is necessary.
- Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance are required.
