As a Field Services Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient performance of tasks associated with hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.
Key Responsibilities- Health and Safety: Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
- Physical Labor: Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
- Equipment Operation: Operate light and heavy equipment, handle various hand tools and powered industrial tools, and work with vibration-producing tools.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear and properly use a variety of PPE, including respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection in multiple combinations.
- Weather Conditions: Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Chemical and Physical Agents: Work in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosive.
- Confined Spaces: Work in potentially elevated noise levels, confined spaces, including lifting in areas of low clearance.
- Elevations: Work at elevations, including working from ladders and scaffolding.
- Field Sampling: Assist in field sampling activities and calibration of meters.
- Truck and Tank Operations: Climb ladders, scaffolding, and into and out of trucks, tanks, and various other containers.
- Extended Work Periods: Work extended time periods, including more than 8 hours.
- Compliance and Safety Meetings: Attend all compliance and safety update meetings.
- Drum Inspection: Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Waste Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Waste Stream Sampling: Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
- Vehicle Operations: Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements.
- Corporate Operating Guidelines: Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
- Environmental Health and Safety: Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
- Emergency Response: Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
- Reliable Transportation: Possess reliable transportation.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to perform physical functions per Key Responsibilities.
- Emergency Response: This position includes emergency response, a continuing condition of employment is agreeing to be on-call; on occasion working on weekends and holidays will be required; emergency response situations can extend beyond 8 hours.
- Background Check: Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position.
- Facial Hair Standards: Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid Driver's license.
- Previous Labor Experience: Previous relevant labor experience.
