Veterinary Surgical Care Specialist

We are seeking an exceptional Veterinary Surgical Assistant to join our Surgery Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our patients and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
- Utilize your ability to place peripheral intravenous catheters in cephalic veins.
- Perform physical exams, accurately counting heart rate, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
- Understand normal vital parameters and alert the doctor when abnormal.
- Set up intravenous fluids, administer subcutaneous fluids, and operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps.
- Disconnect and reconnect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically and monitor patient response to fluid therapy, including signs of overload.
